For adults with Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS),
Data showed patients taking Redemplo® saw a significant reduction in triglycerides, and a lowered incidence of acute pancreatitis, with just one dose every 3 months.
A significant median reduction of 80% in triglycerides from baseline was seen at 10 months.
With Redemplo, fewer people had acute pancreatitis attacks: 2 (8%) compared with 5 (20%) on placebo.
Redemplo is the only treatment that is just one dose every 3 months.
The safety and effectiveness of Redemplo were studied in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial in 75 adult patients with FCS in combination with a low-fat diet (less than or equal to 20 grams of fat per day). The main goal of the trial was to examine how much Redemplo lowered triglycerides from the start of the trial to Month 10 compared with placebo.
Most common adverse reactions were increase in blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia), headache, nausea, and injection site reaction.
*Redemplo 25 mg reduced median triglycerides by 80% (to 443 mg/dL) compared with 17% for placebo (to 1614 mg/dL).
†The median is the middle result in a group of people. This means that half of the patients had results lower than this number and half had results that were higher.
‡The clinical trial included an evaluation of acute pancreatitis events that occurred in patients taking Redemplo compared to those taking placebo. Redemplo has not been proven to reduce acute pancreatitis events.
